Sprawling Multi-BHK Luxury: Where to Stay in Goa with Friends

The argument on a friends trip is never the villa, it is the area. Baga and Arpora if the night matters, Anjuna if the mornings do, Saligao if you want to sleep.

Three Bases for a Friends Trip

Arpora puts you between Baga and the hills, five minutes from Tito's Lane and the Saturday night market, and Casa Palacio is the house that sits there. Anjuna is the slower option: cafes in the morning, the flea market, the cliffs at Vagator ten minutes north, with Vilmaris Anjuna Woods and Vilmaris Courtyard Villa as bases. Saligao is the compromise for mixed groups, quiet at night and ten minutes from Calangute.

North Goa Areas for Friends Trips

Where each area puts you at midnight and at ten in the morning.

Choosing Your Base

  • Arpora sits five minutes from Baga Beach, Tito's Lane and the night market.
  • Anjuna gives you cafes and the flea market with Vagator ten minutes north.
  • Saligao stays quiet after midnight and is ten minutes from Calangute.
  • Calangute works if the group would rather take hotel rooms than a villa.
  • Casa Palacio in Arpora, two villas in Anjuna, Sunridge in Saligao.
  • Mapusa, ten to fifteen minutes out, is where the group restocks.

Inclusions

Wherever the group lands, the villa comes whole and staffed: a pool nobody shares, cooling in every room, a manager, a housekeeper, a cook and a therapist who can come to you. The barbecue, the floating basket, the parking and the backup power are standard. Transfers from the airport and help with the day's plan are included. If the group prefers rooms, Vilmaris Luxe has a pool and a restaurant.

Location guide

Arpora-Baga Road is the nightlife address: Baga and Tito's five minutes, Calangute ten, Anjuna fifteen, Vagator and Chapora twenty. Mazal Waddo in Anjuna is 800 metres from the beach and ten minutes from Assagao. Bouta Waddo, the other Anjuna lane, sits close to the sand as well. Grand Morrod in Saligao runs ten minutes to Calangute and fifteen to Baga. Mopa is about an hour out.

— FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which area of North Goa suits a friends trip best?

Arpora if the trip is about nights out, since the Arpora-Baga Road puts Tito's Lane and Baga Beach roughly five minutes off. Anjuna if it is about cafes, markets and the cliffs. Saligao if the group wants a quiet house and does not mind a ten-minute drive to Calangute.

Anjuna or Baga for a first trip with friends?

Baga is louder, busier and easier to walk around at night. Anjuna is spread out, quieter by day and better for cafes and the flea market. From Arpora you reach Baga in about five minutes and Anjuna in fifteen, which is why mixed groups often base there.

Where do we stay if half the group wants clubs and half wants quiet?

Arpora or Saligao. Arpora keeps the night crowd five minutes from Baga while the house itself sits off the strip. Saligao is fifteen minutes from Baga, far enough that nobody gets woken by it, and taxis back are arranged through the villa manager.

Is Saligao too far from the action for a friends trip?

Not really. Calangute is a ten-minute drive and the Baga strip about fifteen, with Anjuna and Candolim a little beyond. Sunridge sits in Grand Morrod, so the trade-off is a short drive in exchange for silence after midnight.

Can we base ourselves in Anjuna and still reach Vagator and Assagao?

Yes, both are about ten minutes from Vilmaris Anjuna Woods in Mazal Waddo, and Anjuna Beach itself is roughly 800 metres away. The Courtyard Villa sits on another Anjuna lane with the same reach. Either works as a base for that side of Bardez.
